5th Annual Million Dollar Food-A-Thon

Flagler Radio invites the community to come together for the 5th Annual Million Dollar Food-A-Thon, benefiting Grace Community Food Pantry.

Led by Pastor Charles Silano, the pantry helps approximately 5,000 Flagler County families each month, about 1,000 more than a year ago. Rising costs are placing added pressure on working families, veterans and senior citizens.

"The Food-A-Thon not only feeds people, but it allows those families struggling financially to spend the money not at the grocery stores but on essentials such as clothing, car payments, electric bills, soccer shoes for the kids." Pastor Charles Silano

This year's goal is $100,000 in donations. Through the pantry's purchasing power, that amount can provide approximately $500,000 worth of food to help neighbors through the holidays and into the new year. It's called the Million Dollar Food-A-Thon because, since its beginning, community donations have helped purchase more than $1 million worth of food for people in need.

The Food-A-Thon begins at 9 a.m. on WNZF with Free For All Friday, hosted by David Ayres. Flagler Radio Vice President of Sales and Marketing Kirk Keller continues the Food-A-Thon until 2 p.m., with local guests and celebrities visiting the studio. Everyone is welcome to stop by the studios during the event.
