The search for a new superintendent for the St. Johns County school system is moving forward. School Board Chair Anthony Coleman emphasized the importance of community involvement in selecting the right leader for students.

Following a review of 26 applications, the field has been narrowed down to 10 semi-finalists: Corey Wright, Dr. Clay Carmichael, Scott Schneider, Jessica Richardson, Dr. Brennan Aspen, Dr. Maryanne Simon, Dr. Kyle Dresback, Sher Forest, Dr. Randy Malawine, and applicant 27 Lewis Solano. These candidates will now answer more in-depth questions, with their responses being posted on the school district’s website.

The School Board is scheduled to further reduce the pool at their meeting on April 25th. Finalist interviews are planned for May, with the new superintendent expected to begin their role on July 1st. The current superintendent, Tim Forson, announced his retirement in November, with his last day set for June 30th.
