PALM COAST, Fla. – The City of Palm Coast has been recognized with the “Outstanding Private and Public Partnership” award from the Florida Planning and Zoning Association (FPZA) Surfcoast Chapter for its collaboration with Mesa Capital Group to develop the Palm Coast Disc Golf Course in the W-Section.

A Community-Driven Project

As part of the project, Mesa Capital Group donated the land for the course, demonstrating its commitment to enhancing local recreational amenities. The company also partnered with the City to fund and construct the facility, utilizing park impact fees exclusively from its own development—ensuring that no property tax dollars from residents were used.

The planned course will feature 9 to 18 holes, restrooms, shaded areas, and a parking lot, making it a free and accessible recreational space for the entire community.

Aligning with Palm Coast’s Vision

The disc golf course aligns with Palm Coast’s commitment to low-maintenance, environmentally integrated parks. The 2023 joint city-county Parks Master Plan highlighted the need for diverse recreational options, with strong public support for disc golf in surveys and focus groups.

Ray Tyner, Deputy Chief Development Officer, emphasized the project’s importance:

“The City of Palm Coast is dedicated to creative solutions that enhance our growing community. This project fills a recreational gap, enriches the neighborhood, and exemplifies the collaborative spirit that defines our city. The FPZA award reflects the success of this approach and the dedication of everyone involved.”
